Julie Lewellyn

Following a two year nursing course, Julie then went on to study Podiatric Medicine at Durham and graduated in 1991. She worked in the NHS gaining extensive experience working at various GP practices, home-based appointments, the minor foot surgical unit, and the orthotics department within the region.  She became accomplished in all aspects of podiatry and developed a speciality within the field of diabetic Footcare, working at Heath Road Hospital under the direction of the diabetic consultant, which included outpatient clinics, hospital ward treatments and community based appointments.

 

After several years Julie resigned from the NHS to pursue a career in private medicine quickly establishing her own domiciliary service as well as undertaking regular sessions at Shrubland Hall and in local private clinics. In 2007 Julie started working at Gilmour Piper specialising in general foot health, skin and nail disorders, sports injuries, biomechanics of the lower limb, orthotics and minor surgery for adults and children.

 

As a member of The Society of Chiropody and Podiatry and registered with The Health and Care Professionals Council, Julie regularly attends courses to maintain her continued professional development.
